CEO directive to districtpoll officers

Shimla, December 12

Chief Electoral Officer Pushpendra Rajput today asked the district electoral officers (DEOs) to ensure all arrangements for counting by December 15 and also to implement the guidelines of the commission.

Reviewing the arrangements for counting of votes on December 18 in the state with all DEOs through video conferencing, he said quick response code reader to be used in postal ballot counting has been provided for use in postal ballot counting. Containers for counting of VVPAT slips have also been procured and supplied to all ROs.

Mobile phones beyond second cordon of security will be prohibited in the counting. Media centers will also be set up in all the counting centers.

Deputy Election Commissioner Sandeep Saxena also reviewed counting arrangements with Chief Electoral Officer, District Election Officers and Returning Officers.— TNS
