CM: Freedom fighter’s house to be renovated

SHIMLA: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday announced that the government would renovate the residence of Baba Kanshi Ram and convert it into a memorial.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday announced that the government would renovate the residence of Baba Kanshi Ram and convert it into a memorial.

He said the house located in his ancestral village Gurnwad at Dadasiba of Kangra district was in need of repairs.

On his birth anniversary, the Chief Minister said the people of the country and the state were grateful to Baba Kanshi Ram for his contribution to the country’s independence. He said his memories, belongings and other stuff could be preserved in the memorial. “State Language, Art and Culture Academy organises literature and poetic seminars on his birth anniversary every year,” Thakur added. The government was committed to the welfare of freedom fighters and their kin.
