10 hurt as tractor overturns

UNA: As many as 10 devotees travelling in a tractor-trailer to Deot Sidh Temple in Hamirpur were injured when the vehicle overturned in the Bankhandi area of Una district today.

As many as 10 devotees travelling in a tractor-trailer to Deot Sidh Temple in Hamirpur were injured when the vehicle overturned in the Bankhandi area of Una district today.

The devotees belonged to Jalandhar in Punjab.

As per reports, 12 devotees were sitting in the tractor-trailer. The driver failed to control the vehicle on a sharp decline, which resulted in the trailer turning turtle. The passengers fell into a gorge.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Ashok Gupta said the injured were rushed to the Una district hospital from where three patients, whose condition was critical, were referred to the PGI, Chandigarh. Those injured include tractor driver Sukhvinder Singh (30), Sher Singh (20), Balbir Kaur (45), Raj Preet (27), Sukh Vir Kaur (40), Jasmine (18), Joginder Kaur (60), Gurmail (58), Sarab Jeet (40) and Manjeet (31). SP Anupam Sharma said a case had been registered against the driver.
