Shimla, June 10

The Umang Foundation today donated nine wheelchairs for patients to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC). But patients still need 50 more wheel-chairs to move from wards to labs in the hospital.

Ajai Srivastava, chairman of the foundation, said Professor (Dr) VMS Jaswal of Department of Biochemistry handed over the wheelchairs to the Lok Kalyan Samiti, an NGO working round the clock at the IGMC.

There was an acute shortage of wheelchairs at the IGMC Hospital. Now, it will ease the problem, Rajesh Saraswati of the Lok Kalyan Samiti said.

Professor VMS Jaswal said the Umang Foundation is setting examples in the field of selfless service to the poor.

The foundation had also donated about 250 blankets to the Lok Kalyan Samiti and the Sewa Bharti, working at the IGMC.
