Congress leaders ignoring public issues, says Bindal

SOLAN: BJP’s chief spokesman and Nahan MLA Dr Rajiv Bindal today questioned the ruling Congress government if it was contemplating enhancing the retirement age of employees as its leaders were asserting that age was no bar to judge a person’s efficiency, efficacy and effectiveness.

BJP’s chief spokesman and Nahan MLA Dr Rajiv Bindal today questioned the ruling Congress government if it was contemplating enhancing the retirement age of employees as its leaders were asserting that age was no bar to judge a person’s efficiency, efficacy and effectiveness.

Taking a dig at the Congress’ Theog rally held yesterday he said instead of making crucial announcements on issue of public concern, the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues were declaring their fitness levels before the public. He asked if the government would enhance the retirement age of employees to 70 on the analogy of elderly Congress leaders who were declaring themselves fit.

He asked the Congress if this practice was indicative of the fact that there a dearth of youth leaders in their party or are the youth barred from emerging as frontal leaders.

Addressing media persons here today, he said though time was still there for the elections, the Congress ministers along with the Chief Minister were busy holding public rallies. Instead of making crucial announcements on water crisis, forest fires, employment, etc, they were asserting about their fitness levels. He said the government was least concerned about the common man who was left in the lurch with crucial issues remaining unaddressed.

Bindal said it was appalling to note that the state government was directed to act on issues of concern like water and forest fires by the courts and the National Green Tribunal (NGT) as these issues had been abjectly neglected by the government.

Attacking the concerned ministers for failing to address these issues he said the Irrigation and Public Health Minister was busy in organizing rallies while the Forest Minister was more engrossed in the construction of ropeways at the common man was the worst hit.

Bindal said a state government was supposed to address the public issues and come up to their expectations while the ministers here were time and again pledging their allegiance to the Chief Minister instead of addressing issues concerning the common man.
