This was stated by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh while presiding over the passing-out parade of the 16th batch of police recruits at Police Training College, Daroh,15 km from here today.
The Chief Minister said the state government had sanctioned 1,073 posts of constable and the recruitment process was under way besides the recruitment of sub-inspectors had been completed and would be given training soon.
In the recent infamous Kotkhai case, lots of hullabaloo was created by the Opposition.
“I wrote to the Prime Minister to hand over the case to CBI, not because our police was inefficient, but taking into consideration voice of the people,” he said. Now, the CBI was dealing with the case and sought three months to submit the status report, but the High Court had ordered it to submit the report in two weeks, he said.
He announced Rs 25 lakh for overhead water tanks and changing water pipes and Rs 20 lakh for solar lights on the campus. The CM also announced Rs 6.50 lakh for bio-digesters in all buildings of PTC. Earlier, the Chief Minister took a salute from an impressive march past of both men and women police contingents.
