A Special Judge, Mandi, while deciding a case pertaining to the possession of narcotics has acquitted Yog Raj, a resident of Bharari village, Sundernagar.

The police had nabbed the accused and recovered 450 gm of charas from his shop on April 12, 2012.

A case had been registered under Section 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act against him.

The court after going through the evidence and hearing the arguments held that the prosecution was not able to prove the case against the accused as there were material contradictions among the testimony of official witnesses.

It held that the prosecution had failed to prove the charge against the accused, therefore, he was acquitted of the charge.
