Dist Congress heads to take feedback for poll manifesto

SHIMLA: The ruling Congress has asked all its 17 District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents to take feedback from various sections of society so as to include all issues concerning the public in its election manifesto.

The ruling Congress has asked all its 17 District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents to take feedback from various sections of society so as to include all issues concerning the public in its election manifesto.

Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu chaired a meeting of the DCC presidents here today. He also urged the DCC chiefs to suggest names of prominent social workers, representatives of workers and employees’ associations and other prominent persons who could be associated with the party.

“It is important that we remain geared up for the Assembly elections which are approaching fast. We should not be bothered about the remarks made by anyone against any office-bearer,” he advised. He added that all such people could help the party widen its base in every sections of society.

Sukhu also announced that the party had decided to undertake another phase of the Path Yatra from September 12 to 28. “A demand has come in from various quarters that the Path Yatra must be undertaken in the remaining parts of the state,” he said.

The participants at the meeting appreciated the steps taken by Sukhu in his capacity as the HPCC president to strengthen the organisation.
