Documentary films depict a real picture of society and bring hidden problems to the fore. This was stated by Rajneesh Shrivastva, Director, National Institute of Technology (NIT), on the inaugural function of the Hamirpur Film Festival that started here today.
He said it was strange that women in tribal regions of HP were deprived of property rights. This was nicely depicted in the documentary “No Women’s Land” produced by Dev Kanya Thakur, a novice Himachali documentary film producer.
The films that were screened today included “No Women’s Land”, “The Little Terrorist”, “Gul”, “Anthony Gonsalvis”, “The Lost Roots”, “A Gallery at Tihar”, “Children of Pyre” among others.
