Google experts to teach students of Bahra varsity

DHARAMSALA: Experts from Google and Oracle will teach the first-year BTech students of Rayat Bahra University. Vice Chancellors of the university Prof Raj Singh stated this at a press conference today.

Experts from Google and Oracle will teach the first-year BTech students of Rayat Bahra University. Vice Chancellors of the university Prof Raj Singh stated this at a press conference today. He said it was for the first time that Google had partnered in North India to start a BTech CSE degree with specialisation in Android development.

“There will be a demand for 20 lakh Android developers in India by 2020 as per estimates of Google,” he said.

Responding to the queries of mediapersons, Raj Singh, said to solve the problem of staff in Android development, Google would provide the faculty for the first year. The faculty from Google, besides teaching, will also train teachers of Rayat Bahra University on their Android development programmes.

Raj Singh said the university had also partnered with IBM for BTech degree in CSE with specialisation in cloud computing, with Oracle University for BTech CSE degree with specialisation in IOT and Java language and Apple for iOS programme.

He said the university had partnered with Google for MBA degree in digital marketing and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) for MBA in finance. For BTech in electronic and communication, it has partnered with HUAWEI, the leading electronic hardware manufacturing company of China.

Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group of Institutes Gurvinder Singh Bahra said the transformation into a university had helped them in collaborating with the industry for drafting new curricula. The UGC has recognised the new curricula.

Hamirpur: Rayat and Bahra University (RBU) has collaborated with Google for producing industry-ready students.

This was stated by Gurvinder Singh Bahra at a press conference here yesterday. Dr Raj Singh said the university offered vibrant, challenging and supportive learning environment that disseminated and applied new knowledge through learning, research, creativity with community involvement and partnership.
