File reply on report on waste dumping in Giri: High Court to state govt

Shimla: The HP High Court on Wednesday directed the state authorities to file their response on the inspection report filed by Senior Environmental Engineer, State Pollution Control Board on the issue of dumping of waste in Giri River.



Shimla: The HP High Court on Wednesday directed the state authorities to file their response on the inspection report filed by Senior Environmental Engineer, State Pollution Control Board on the issue of dumping of waste in Giri River. During the course of hearing it was informed to the court that the inspection report has already been filed in the registry of the court but the same is not on record. On this the court directed the registry of the court to trace the same and place on record and listed the matter for further hearing on May 31. A Division Bench comprising the Justice Dharam Chand Chaudhary and Justice Sandeep Sharma passed this order on a PIL alleging that waste generated in Chhaila market (Theog) is being dumped into Giri River.
