Nurpur, May 21
The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Nurpur, on Monday sentenced four persons to rigorous imprisonment in a land fraud case.
Assistant district attorney Tarsem Kumar said the court sentenced prime convicts Anil Kumar and his maternal uncle Yugal to four-year rigorous imprisonment, while other convicts Ratan Chand and Kultar Singh, who had assisted in preparing forged power of attorney, were sentenced to two-year imprisonment.
The police had registered an FIR under Sections 419,420,464,471 and 120 (B) against Anil, his mother Sudesh Kumari of Jassur, Yugal of Fatehpur, Ratan Chand of Salgot and Kultar Singh of Gurial on May 21, 2005, for allegedly forging the sale document and power of attorney for selling the land of Ashwani Kumar of Jassur in a planned conspiracy.
Complainant Raat Rani, Ashwani’s wife, had lodged a complaint alleging that her husband was co-sharer of a land with Anil at Jassur. Anil had prepared a forged power of attorney in favour of his mother by impersonating his maternal uncle Yugal as her husband on September 2, 2003. Sudesh through the forged power of attorney sold Ashwani’s land share to Anil.
