Una MLA Satpal Singh Raizada on Sunday called upon Congress workers to gear up for the Lok Sabha elections.

At a block-level meeting, he said BJP MP Anurag Thakur had failed to live up to the expectations of  the people.

Raizada said Dehlan village of Una segment, which had been adopted by the MP under the ‘Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana’, lacked basic infrastructure even four years after the launch of the scheme, adding that a new village had already been adopted by the MP in Hamirpur district. He said problems such as poor sanitation, irregular drinking water supply and stray animal menace, besides many others continued to plague the village.

Block Congress president Hazari Lal Dhiman said state Congress incharge Rajni Patil would tour Una next month. She would interact with party workers.
