Govind Thakur calls on Union Minister

SHIMLA: Forest Minister Govind Singh Thakur on Tuesday met Union Minister for Urban Development Hardeep Singh Puri at New Delhi and apprised him of various issues concerning the state.



Shimla, June 6

Forest Minister Govind Singh Thakur on Tuesday met Union Minister for Urban Development Hardeep Singh Puri at New Delhi and apprised him of various issues concerning the state.

As the Central government has declared 2018-2019 as the year of Himalayas, the minister laid stress on creating urban infrastructure in the state. He proposed and discussed various schemes with the Union Minister, including infrastructure development for sewage connectivity in municipal areas of Manali, Kullu and Bhunter. He said scientific disposal of household waste by creating facilities at dumping sites of MC Manali, Kullu and Bhunter needed underground dustbin facility.

He further emphasised the need for developing the concept of sky bus or mono rail in the state to preserve its natural beauty. He stressed on providing the latest parking facility through puzzle pit parking system. — TNS
