A sum of Rs 3.32 crore has been spent on development works at Balah and Vihal villages. This was stated by Chief Parliamentary Secretary Inder Dutt Lakhanpal while addressing a public meeting after inaugurating two health centres at Balah and Vihal here today.
He said Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh was committed to all-round development of the state and priority was given to rural development. He said to provide best health services at the doorstep the government had not only upgraded the health centres but also arranged for better medical staff in these centres.
The CPS said it was due to better health programmes that the child birth rate in the state had fallen to 16.4 per cent against 21 per cent at the national statistics.
Lakhanpal said a water supply scheme from the Beas was installed that would supply drinking water to 100 villages of Badsar constituency. He said many schools were upgraded.
