Students studying in various schools of the district today paid homage to schoolchildren massacred in Peshawar in Pakistan by Talibanis yesterday.
Children maintained a two-minute silence as part of the homage at their respective schools. School teachers at DAV Centenary Public School and Rockford School also stood in prayers along with students.
Meanwhile, various social organisations have termed the incident as a cowardly act against innocent schoolchildren.
Himotkarsh Parishad Chairman Kanwar Hari Singh, Una Jan Hit Morcha president Rajiv Bhanot and members of Rotary Club Una have strongly condemned the incident.
Congress condemns attack
KANGRA: Deepak Sharma, state spokesperson for Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee, today condemned the killing of 138 schoolchildren and teachers by terrorists at Army School in Peshawar, Pakistan, yesterday.
Deepak said the barbaric act had caused universal outrage and painfully underscored the threat posed by organised terrorist groups to mankind. “The brutal cold-blooded massacre of innocent children is the most savage act of terrorists that shows their depravity and fear,” he said.
He expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
