HRTCofficial charas case: DGP to file affidavit

SHIMLA: The HP High Court has directed the Director-General of Police to file a personal affidavit informing the progress in the investigation pertaining to the recovery of 4 kg charas from the official vehicle of Regional Manager, HRTC.

The HP High Court has directed the Director-General of Police to file a personal affidavit informing the progress in the investigation pertaining to the recovery of 4 kg charas from the official vehicle of Regional Manager, HRTC.

During the course of hearing it was informed to the court that 4 kg contraband substance was recently recovered from the official vehicle of Regional Manager, HRTC and perhaps no satisfactory progress in the investigation has taken place.

On this a division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Ajay Mohan Goel directed Sanjay Kumar, DGP, to file his affidavit in this regard within a week and listed this matter for further hearing on June 27.

The court passed this order on a petition taken up suo moto by the court as a PILon the reports in different newspapers regarding the illicit drug trade in the state.
