Dr NK Kalia, father of martyr Captain Saurabh Kalia, who was the first to sacrifice his life in the Kargil war in 1999, on Wednesday condemned a recent report of the UN Human Rights Commission released on Kashmir last week.

He said the report released by the UN Human Rights Commission carried no truth. The commission had different yardsticks for India and Pakistan. He said where was the commission when his son and his team were tortured for 22 days by the Pakistan Army during the Kargil war.

He said he moved from pillar to post in the past 18 years and approached several national, international organisations, including the UN Human Rights Commission, to pressure Pakistan to identify and punish those who were involved in brutal torture of my son, but all went in vain.

He said all international agencies remained a mute spectator against the atrocities committed by the Pakistan Army on the Indian soldiers.

He justified the operation “all-out” launched by the Army in Kashmir and said it should continue till the last militant was killed.
