Labourer drowns in Pong Dam lake

NURPUR: Subash Chand (52) of Naana village in Jawali drowned in the Pong Dam lake yesterday.



Nurpur, May 23

Subash Chand (52) of Naana village in Jawali drowned in the Pong Dam lake yesterday. Subash had been assisting in construction of a rest house at Ransor Di Gari in the Pong Dam lake.

When he was going with his colleagues in a motorboat to reach the site, the motorboat ran out of diesel. As he knew swimming, he jumped into the lake to fetch diesel. He started swimming towards the motorboat, but drowned.

His body could not be traced today even after efforts of a team of divers of the BBMB, Nangal. — OC
