Liquor vend on temple land demolished

NURPUR: Following the directions of the Nurpur SDM-cum-Assistant Commissioner, Ram Gopal temple trust, Damtal, a structure illegally raised on the trust land at Damtal for running a liquor vend was demolished by the temple officer by pressing into service a JCB machine.

Following the directions of the Nurpur SDM-cum-Assistant Commissioner, Ram Gopal temple trust, Damtal, a structure illegally raised on the trust land at Damtal for running a liquor vend was demolished by the temple officer by pressing into service a JCB machine. A large number of policemen were also present during the demolition .

As per information, the lessee of the temple land had allowed the owner of a liquor vend to raise an unauthorised structure on the land which came into the notice of the temple trust and it took this action yesterday.

Abid Hussain, the SDM-cum-Assistant Commissioner, temple trust, said the administration would not allow encroachments on temple land and take action against encroachers henceforth. — OC
