Bilaspur, February 15
People rushed out of their homes and offices in Bilaspur town after a loud boom was heard on Thursday afternoon, fearing it could be an earthquake.
However, it was not immediately clear what caused the boom.
Sadar Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) Abhishek Garg said the reason behind it had not been detected and investigations were underway.
Some residents of the area claimed that their homes shook due to its effect.
The incident occurred at 12:25 pm when people were busy working in their homes and offices.
Confusion prevailed about what caused the loud boom.
