HAMIRPUR: A man was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in Hamirpur district in January this year, the police said Saturday. The accused was identified as Anmol, they said, adding that he allegedly raped the 16-year-old girl of the same village on January 20. The girl's mother had filed a complaint on the basis of which a case was registered against the accused. She also alleged that the accused used to threaten her daughter and had fraudulently withdrawn approximately Rs 1.5 lakh from the family's joint account. PTI
Man booked for raping minor
UNA: The Una police today registered a case under the POCSO Act against a 34-year-old man for allegedly raping a 5-year-old girl from the neighbourhood. The victim’s parents, who live in a village, told the police that the crime had been committed around 1.30 am on Saturday. SP Devakar Sharma said a case had been registered against the accused under Section 376 IPC and under the POCSO Act. He said the medical examination of the child had been conducted at the Tanda medical college, the report of which was awaited. OC
Flesh trade racket busted
Mandi: The police have busted a flesh trade racket at Chadiyara in Mandi district, where a hotel owner was operating it. According to the police, the trade was going on in a hotel with the connivance of owner Lakshman Kumar of Chadiyara in the district. The accused hired two girls from Delhi and Gurugram for flesh trade. Additional Superintendent of Police Puneet Raghu said on the tip-off, the police had raided the hotel and rescued two victims from the hotel. The owner had been arrested. TNS
