Man held for sodomy in Jawali

The Jawali police have arrested Shekhu of Kuthera village on Thursday evening for allegedly sodomising a minor (10) in a nearby forest.

The Jawali police have arrested Shekhu of Kuthera village on Thursday evening for allegedly sodomising a minor (10) in a nearby forest.

As per police information, the victim had gone to the forest with his cousin for fetching mangoes. The cousin left him there for some time. In the meantime, the accused reached there and committed the crime. Before leaving, he threatened the victim with dire consequences if he revealed it to anyone.

Later, the victim told his family members who further got an FIR registered against the accused. SP, Kangra, Santosh Patial said a case under Sections 377 and 506 of the IPC and Section 4 of the POCSO Act had been registered against the accused. The accused would be produced in the court tomorrow.
