Kullu, April 26
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda stated that a team of 34 personnel, including 10 orthopedicians and 2 anaesthetists, with adequate stock of medicine and bleaching powder had been sent to earthquake-hit Nepal.
He was here to attend a community feast at his aunt’s place and while talking to mediapersons today, he said the states affected by the tremors would be provided adequate relief.
During his two-day long visit to his aunt’s house, the minister was greeted by a large number of prominent persons and BJP leaders.
Nadda met his friends and listened to the grievances of the masses.
Kullu MLA-cum-Himachal Lokhit Party Chief Maheshwar Singh also greeted the minister.
Maheshwar appealed Nadda to grant a medical college for Kullu and improve air-connectivity to the hill state to promote tourism.
National general secretary of BJP ST Morcha Yuvraj Bodh, state BJP vice-president Ram Sigh, Kullu BJP president and Manali MLA Gobind Singh Thakur and other senior BJP leaders and members were also present on the occasion.
Later, the minister left for Delhi in a helicopter from Bhuntar airport to attend a high-level meeting on the disaster-hit Nepal.
