Met predicts wet spell in region till July 17

SHIMLA: The local Met office on Wednesday warned of heavy to very heavy rain in the low and middle hills on July 12 and heavy rain in the low and middle hills on July 13 and predicted wet spell in the region till July 17.

The local Met office on Wednesday warned of heavy to very heavy rain in the low and middle hills on July 12 and heavy rain in the low and middle hills on July 13 and predicted wet spell in the region till July 17.

Heavy rain lashed parts of the state especially Sirmaur, Kangra and Una districts in the past 24 hours Paonta Sahib, which received 202 mm of rain, was the wettest followed by Nahan 109 mm, Palampur and Una 89 mm each, Jogindernagar 62 mm, Bangana 45 mm, Jhandutta 40 mm, Sarkaghat 35 mm, Baijnath 33 mm, Renuka 26 mm, Berthin 24 mm, Rajgarh22 mm, Nagrota Suriyan 19 mm, Kahu 18 mm, Bharari and Mandi 16 mm each, Saloni and Pandoh 15 mm each, Naina Devi and Bilaspur 14 mm each.

There was no appreciable change in the minimum and maximum temperatures and Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti district was the coldest at night with a low of 13. 4 degree Celsius while Chamba recorded a high at 32.7 degree Celsius was the hottest in the day.
