Mild earthquakes hit Chamba

Shimla, August 16

Two mild earthquakes hit Chamba district in quick succession this morning. The first jolt of 3.5 magnitude was felt at 8:53 am while the second earthquake of 4.1 magnitude occurred at 8:56 am. Dr Manmohan Singh, Director, Meteorological Department, said the depth of both the quakes was 10 kilometres. No loss of life or property has been reported from any part of the district. — OC
