Minor’s rape: College students take out march

Resenting the rape and brutal murder of a 7-year-old girl of a labourer on Monday, the students of Government Degree College, Nalagarh, took out a protest march at Nalagarh today.

The students also presented a memorandum to the President through the SDM pressing for strict laws to deal with such brutal cases of rape and murder.They marched from their college to the SDM office and raised slogans, demanding harsh punishment for the accused. The accused was arrested by the police on Wednesday.

The accused, a 19-year old migrant labourer, had brutally killed the girl and her intestine had been strewn open by using a wooden stick. This brutal killing has evoked widespread protest from college students who said there was an urgent need to put in place the stricter laws so that such inhuman offences could be checked.
