Shimla, June 25

AAP leader Bhagwant Mann today said the recent Army recruitment rally in Bathinda and other parts of Punjab had

put forth an alarming situation as the youth who were high on drugs could not even qualify the physical fitness test.

Singer-turned-politician Mann, who is part of the Joint Committee of Parliament visiting Himachal these days, said the high drug addiction in Punjab had ruined the state. "AAP will sweep the poll in Punjab as the Akalis cannot face the electorate," said Mann while interacting with mediapersons.

He lamented that the situation was alarming as the Army was not contemplating recruiting the youth for the Punjab regiment from others states considering the high drug addiction among youngsters here. He stressed the need for setting up  more rehabilitation centres.

Mann said: "People are fed up with the Akalis and have made up their mind to vote in favour of AAP."

Mann, who is a potential chief ministerial candidate being projected by AAP in Punjab, lamented that Punjab had become synonymous with corruption, drugs, mafia raj and rising unemployment. "If my party reposes faith in me and entrusts me with the task of contesting the elections, I will shoulder the responsibility for the betterment of the state," he said, adding that AAP would do exceedingly well in Himachal and was in a position to sweep the poll.
