Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda said today that India’s corruption index rating had come down from 96 to 74 and the government was determined to make the country free fromcorruption, casteism and terrorism.
“Pakistan has been isolated owing to the efforts of the government. Even the United Nations has recognised that it was harbouring terrorists,” he said.
Nadda, who inaugurated the ‘Naya Bharat Hum Karke Rahenge’ exhibition organised by the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) and the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) here today, said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India had carved a niche for itself and earned the trust of neighbouring countries such as Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar, but Pakistan did not respond to the friendly gestures of the country, which led to Surgical Strikes.
Calling upon the people to join the initiative of the Prime Minister to revive the spirit of the Quit India Movement and transform the country into a new India by 2022, Nadda highlighted the achievements of the government. He said three crore households had been provided LPG connection, while the remaining would be covered by 2019.
He said it was important to educate the present generations about the “black days of the British rule” and the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters.
The minister said the present government had launched several welfare schemes to make people socially secure.
