Trucks parked along the road in Luggar Bhatti area on the Kullu-Manali left bank road adjoining the Kullu town has become a nuisance for commuters.

As a result, residents and tourists can be seen stuck in long jams due to haphazard parking of trucks along the roadside. Residents rue over 20 trucks remained parked on the narrow stretch of the road due to which school and college students and office goers face problems.

They say that these trucks are parked there to supply liquor to the store in that area. However, with the lack of adequate parking in the area trucks can be seen parked along the roadside for days together. They allege due to lack of space in the liquor store, truck owners have to wait for many days to drop their carriage and trucks remain parked along the road.

Local residents Uttam, Chaman, Shyam, Sunita and Prem demanded that the police should take appropriate steps to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the area. They said a memorandum to this regard would be submitted to the Superintendent of Police.

Kullu ASP Nishchint Singh Negi said action would be taken against those drivers who park their trucks haphazardly and create hurdles in the smooth flow of traffic. He said the police would regulate traffic and ensure that obstacles were not created.
