Shimla, July 8

The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board on Sunday announced that Poanta Sahib, Kala Amb, Nahan in Sirmaur and others areas in Solan district might face power cuts for three days from Monday in the wake of the Uttarakhand Government’s decision to temporarily shut the Dehradun-Khadra Majri transmission line for maintenance.

The state power board has signed a bilateral agreement with Uttarakhand to supply power through the Khadra Majri transmission line.

The Uttarakhand Government has informed the state power board that the power supply through this line would not be available from July 9 for three days.

A spokesperson for the state power board said they had been making arrangements to ensure regular power supply through an alternative line from Solan. — TNS
