Shimla, July 30
RTI activist Dev Ashish Bhattacharya today filed another application in the Priyanka Vadra land purchase case.
He said he was denied information on the pretext that it posed a security threat, but the same was provided to another applicant in 2012. He asked why the SPG’s permission was not sought before giving information to Om Prakash, a resident of Sadhupul in Solan district.
Bhattacharya had filed another application with the State Information Commission on July 8, 2015, requesting that the information given to Om Prakash or any other person should be seized. He asked the commission to ensure that no photocopies of the information were available in India or abroad.
He said the commission should ask then Deputy Commissioner and ADM, Shimla, why permission was not sought from the SPG and Priyanka Vadra before giving information in 2012. The applicant asked the Director General of Police (DGP) to cease copies of the said information.
He asked for an action-taken report on his application saying the ADM-cum-PIO, Shimla, had on November 28, 2014, revealed that information of similar nature had already been provided to another person in 2012.
“It is strange that Priyanka Gandhi and the SPG are opposing the disclosure of the information sought by me,” he said.
