Food and Civil Supplies Minister Kishan Kapoor on Tuesday said the cost of pulses being supplied under the public distribution system (PDS) had been reduced by Rs 5 per kg. He added that the cost of levy sugar would also be reduced by the same amount from the next month.
Kapoor, while addressing mediapersons at the Circuit House, alleged that the previous Congress government had failed to provide ration to the beneficiaries under the PDS. The quality of rice, sugar and wheat was poor during the Congress regime, he alleged.
The minister said in the last six months, CM Jai Ram Thakur had succeeded in generating a revenue to the tune of Rs 4,378 crore.
