Rural areas’ growth top priority: CM

MANDI: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said the development of rural areas was the top priority of the state government and it was working in this direction.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said the development of rural areas was the top priority of the state government and it was working in this direction.

Addressing a public meeting at Kelodhar in Seraj, on Saturday, he said the government had earmarked Rs 2,572 crore for providing irrigation and drinking water facilities to the people during the current financial year.

Earlier, he performed ‘bhumi pujan’ of Kandha-Bah-Batand road (Phase-II). He laid the foundation stone of the IPH office building and a science block building of Government Senior Secondary School, Kelodhar. He also inaugurated IPH subdivision at Kelodhar.The Chief Minister announced Rs 15 lakh for Kelodhar Panchayat, Rs 10 lakh each for Bara, Saroha and Parwara gram panchayats. He also announced Rs 3 lakh for the Mahila Mandal, Kelodhar.

The Pandoh-Kandha road would be improved. He also said Rs 10 lakh would be provided under the SC Component Plan for the construction of one road.— TNS
