SJVN rally to promote ‘swachh’ campaign

SHIMLA: Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) Chairman and Managing Director NL Sharma on Sunday launched the Swachhta rally in a bid to promote the Swachh Bharat campaign in all its offices and projects throughout the country.

Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) Chairman and Managing Director NL Sharma on Sunday launched the Swachhta rally in a bid to promote the Swachh Bharat campaign in all its offices and projects throughout the country.

All employees along with their family participated in the rally. The rally started from Chhota Shimla and passed through The Mall, Chaura Maidan and culminated at The Petterhoff, Shimla, stated SJVNL spokesperson.

Sharma informed that the purpose of the rally was to develop a habit of cleanliness among all.

Apart from construction of toilets in village schools, SJVNL is adopting temples, heritage buildings, some villages, public places for cleanliness. The message of Swachh Bharat would also be propagated by organising workshops and nukkad nataks in villages during the fortnight-long campaigns till May 31, he said.

He said participation of not only employees and their family members, but also the villagers will be ensured in the project areas through gram sabhas and panchayats.

The company has launched the drive in six states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bihar and Delhi.
