Snow clearing goes on at Saach Pass

DALHOUSIE: The recent snowfall on the Saach Pass has again spoiled the efforts of the administration of Pangi tribal subdivision in Chamba district undertaken for clearing the snow from the Saach Pass on the Chamba-Killar road.

Dalhousie, May 14

The recent snowfall on the Saach Pass has again spoiled the efforts of the administration of Pangi tribal subdivision in Chamba district undertaken for clearing the snow from the Saach Pass on the Chamba-Killar road.

Resident Commissioner (RC) of Pangi Rohit Rathore confirmed on Monday that the recent snowfall had disrupted the operation launched by the PWD at Saach Pass. However, despite inclement weather, the work has been restarted on a war footing by deploying JCB machines and dozers so that the traffic could be resumed as early as possible, Rathore said.

The Saach Pass is a 4,420-metre-high (14,500 ft) mountain pass in Chamba district.— OC
