Hundreds of commuters are stranded on the Manali-Leh National Highway near Patseu in tribal district Lahaul Spiti, 50 km from district headquarter Keylong, as a huge landslide occurred in the area late on Tuesday night.

According to sources, a large number of vehicles are stuck in traffic jam from both Lahaul and Leh side.

There was incessant rainfall in the area since yesterday, which triggered the huge landslide.

Tourists, who were forced to spend the night in vehicles, went without food and water as the area was quite isolated.

Border Roads Organisation is engaged in the area to clear the debris from the road and they are hopeful that it will be opened till late noon.

DC Lahaul Spiti Deva Singh Negi confirmed the report and said soon it will be opened for smooth traffic as BRO was engaged.
