Palampur, June 20
A six-year-old child was killed and his mother seriously injured when a speeding truck hit them on the Alampur-Jaisinghpur state highway today.
The police said the child and his mother, along with five other persons, were standing on the highway when the truck hit them killing the child on the spot and injuring six others.
The police reached the spot and arrested the truck driver. All the injured were admitted to the local Civil Hospital. The police handed over the body to the parents after a post-mortem. A case under Section 304-A of the IPC has been registered against the driver. — OC
