Two dead, three injured in accident

Two persons were killed and three others were injured when a speeding SUV hit three motorcycles at Kangoo near Sundernagar, about 30km from here on Thursday.

The deceased were on way from Amritsar to Manikaran, when the SUV hit two motorcycles at Kangoo near Sundernagar in the Mandi district and another bike was entrapped between these vehicles, police said.

According to police one of motorcyclists, who died on spot was identified as Sahil (24) while Bitta (20) succumbed to the injuries at Civil Hospital, Sundernagar.

Three injured were admitted to the hospital.

Two injured persons Gunny (23) and Sunny (20) were stated to be out of danger while Vishal (20) who suffered multiple fractures and injuries has been referred to PGI, Chandigarh.

The driver of the SUV was arrested and a case has been registered under Sections 279, 337, 338 and 304-A of the IPC. — PTI
