BJP leaders flayed the Congress regime at a rally near here today. Leader of Opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal, former Panchayati Raj Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Mandi MP Ramswaroop Sharma and few other BJP leaders addressed the public meeting.
Addressing a gathering, Dhumal alleged, “Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had tried to misuse his official power and filed false cases against my family and BJP workers. The case against Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) was dismissed from High Court. Thereafter, the state government moved a petition in the Supreme Court, which was dismissed today”, he added. The HPCA is headed by BJP MP Anurag Thakur, son of Prem Kumar Dhumal.
“During the BJP regime the state government was providing uniform to school students under Atal Uniform Yojna but after the Congress came to power in the state, it changed the name of scheme as Mahatma Gandhi Yojna but failed to provide the facility to students”, he remarked.
Dhumal said that if the BJP comes to power, RUSA system in education would be scrapped immediately. Expressing sympathy toward government employees, Dhumal stated that the Virbhadra-led government had failed to keep its promises to employees. The 4-9-14 scale had not been provided them till today. This was a long-pending demand of employees.
BJP state president Satpal Satti, BJP MLA and former Panchayati Raj Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Mandi MP Ramswarop Sharma also lambasted the government for its failure to prepare detailed project reports (DPR) of several development projects funded by the Central Government to the state were still incomplete.
BJP Sarkaghat MLA said that during the Congress regime no development works were carried out in his constituency.
