Jalandhar, May 28:

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) workers today warned the party high command for bringing parachute candidates in the coming municipal polls in the state. At a meeting chaired by former cabinet minister Dr Daljit Singh Cheema, Santa Singh Umaidpuri and Paramjit Singh Sidhwan, the party workers openly slammed the party high command for bringing parachute candidates in the recently held Assembly elections in Punjab. The workers said it was mainly due to this reason that the SAD lost the election by such a big margin.

At the meeting that went on for over three and a half hours, the workers also raised concern over the no-love-lost relation between Mayor Sunil Jyoti and senior deputy mayor Kamaljit Singh Bhatia. They also raised concern over the ignoring of the Akali councillors by the BJP councillors. They accused Mayor Sunil Jyoti of not giving attention towards wards governed by Akali councillors.
