‘Tap horticulture to bring about crop diversification’

During his visit to Jalandhar after taking over as the Director, Horticulture, Punjab, Pushpinder Singh Aulakh said horticulture can play a vital role in bringing about crop diversification in the state.

Aulakh said to fulfil the purpose, the Punjab Government has introduced several schemes for horticulture.

He said the Centre of Excellence for Vegetables is also providing saplings for growing hybrid vegetables in areas surrounding the district.

Similarly, the Centre of Excellence for Potato is also working to bring about a better quality of potato crop.

During his visit, the Director Horticulture also instructed the officials to work hard to achieve the best possible results.
