1,000 take part in cycle rally to protect environment

HOSHIARPUR: A cycle rally was organized in the city today by Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan to create awareness about conserving the environment, keeping the youth away from drugs and creating a healthy society.

A cycle rally was organized in the city today by Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan to create awareness about conserving the environment, keeping the youth away from drugs and creating a healthy society.

More than 1,000 youth participated in the rally that was flagged off by MLA Sunder Sham Arora. Arora said it was a great initiative to spread a good message. He also appreciated the district administration's support for the success of the rally.

Deputy Commissioner Vipul Ujwal said all such effort would be supported by the administration. SSP J. Elanchezhian said the district police was doing to its maximum to check drug addiction in the district.

Swami Omesh Nand and Swami Sajananand also presented their views on the conservation of the environment. Renowned Punjabi singer Firoz Khan encouraged the residents to plant more trees.
