3 cars found burnt in Urban Estate

In a bizarre incident, three of the five cars parked in an empty plot were found burnt in Urban Estate, phase 2, late last night.

Whether the cars were burnt due to short circuit or intentionally set on fire by miscreants could not be ascertained.

According to area SHO Onkar Singh Brar, the cars burnt in the incident were old. A Hyundai Verna car of 2000 model and two Indica cars of 2002 and 2013 were burnt in the incident, he said.

Area residents said the cars had been parked in the plot for the past many years. It was only around 12 am that the siren of one of the cars went on, following which people rushed to the spot.

On reaching the spot, they found all three cars on fire and informed the matter to the Fire Department.
