6 booked for fraud

Phagwara: The Phagwara police have registered a case of large-scale fraud under Section 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120B of the IPC against six persons including a retired patwari, Sodhi Ram, Anil Kumar, Gulzar Singh, Rajwinder Singh, Shivdev Kaur and Balwinder Singh on the charges of duping a UK-based NRI Harbhajhan Singh Jaspal of Rs 3.21 crore on the pretext of selling him a plot of 20 kanal and two marlas which was later proved to be a part of a road in Phagwara.

The accused were still at large.
