HOSHIARPUR: Hoshiarpur''s leading advocate Vinod Sharma, aged 49, was killed in an accident that took place on the Hoshiarpur-Chandigarh road near Totomajara village at around 2.30 am last night.

Hoshiarpur's leading advocate Vinod Sharma, aged 49, was killed in an accident that took place on the Hoshiarpur-Chandigarh road near Totomajara village at around 2.30 am last night.

His wife Anju Sharma and son Harsh Sharma were seriously injured in the mishap.

People near the accident site called an ambulance to take the victims to hospital, but Vinod Kumar Sharma, son of JK Sharma, died on the spot. Anju Sharma and Harsh Sharma were admitted to a private hospital.

According to the kin of the deceased, he had gone to attend the retirement party of a close relative. At around 1 o'clock at night, he started his journey back home.

The police said it seemed the car had collided with some heavy vehicle. Cops registered a case against the unidentified driver under relevant sections of the IPC.
