Jalandhar, April 26
Overwhelmed by the historic win of the party in the municipal elections in New Delhi on Wednesday, the district unit of the BJP today celebrated the victory ‘silently’ by gathering at the office and observing a two-minute silence in the memory of slain CRPF jawans killed in Naxalite attack in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district.
District BJP president Ramesh Sharma said the results of Delhi MCD elections were a referendum on the Arvind Kejriwal government. “Our hearts are filled with grief and pain for the families of the CRPF jawans killed in action. Though we are happy over the BJP’s historic win in the MCD elections, we will not celebrate it with pomp and show,” said Sharma.
Speaking on the soon to be held municipal elections, Sharma said despite the Congress coming to power, the BJP workers were excited over the repeated wins of the party in various municipal polls and history will repeat itself in Jalandhar too.
