Jalandhar: Bawa Henry, Congress MLA from Jalandhar North, on Sunday held a meeting with party workers and councilors. He said the beneficiaries of the Atta Dal and other schemes would have benefits through swipe card system to prevent alleged wrongdoing happened in the previous government. He said he would urge the Chief Minister to get a vigilance probe done on the benefits provided in the previous government so that officials could work without violating rules and regulations. He assured the people that they need not to struggle for ration as it would be provided in ration depots only.

DCC remembers Rajiv Gandhi

The District Congress Committee (urban) on Sunday observed the 26th death anniversary of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi as ‘anti-terrorism day’. The programme was held under the leadership of DCC president Daljit Singh Ahluwalia. Congress MLA from Jalandhar West, Sushil Rinku, said Rajiv Gandhi had played a major role in maintaining the integrity and harmony of the country. He threw light on the role of Rajiv Gandhi in bringing digital advancements in the country. Congress leaders from across the district also paid their tributes.
