Mechanical engineering department of the Lyallpur Khalsa College of Engineering (LKCE) organised a CADD workshop on solid-works. The workshop was conducted by Parminder Singh, centre head, CADD centre, Jalandhar, under the supervision of Dr Sukhraj Singh, HoD, mechanical engineering department. In the workshop the basics, execution of commands and applications of the software were explained. Students also participated in the lecture. Sukhbir Singh Chatha, director, academic affairs, KCL Group of Institutes, and Dr YS Randhawa, director, LKCE, appreciated the efforts of the faculty and motivated the students.

Farewell party

Students of the Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Senior Secondary School, Sangal Sohal, Kapurthala Road, Jalandhar, bid adieu to the students of Class XII. The farewell ceremony included a cultural programme, games and various award category programmes including bhangra, western dance and solo dance performances by students of Class XI. Games like musical chair and tongue twisters elated the enthusiasm of the party. Principal Manju Arora congratulated and wished students good luck for their future.

Spring carnival celebrated

Kamla Nehru Public School, celebrated spring carnival on Monday. The celebration began with a dance performance presented by students of Class Nursery. They dressed up as flowers, butterflies and bees. Students of Class LKG presented a song ‘Spring is here’. Performances by students of Class UKG, I and II were applauded by all. The atmosphere became exciting when the guests stepped in the arena to participate in various fun-filled games organised for them. The event concluded with the jam session of parents dancing on punjabi music. Principal PK Dhillon thanked the parents for their support

Programme on Buddha’s teachings

The Buddhist Study Centre of the Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, has taken an endeavour to sensitise people regarding the relevance of Buddha’s teachings as a part of the ongoing seven-day programme ‘Enlightenment 2017’. On the fourth day of the programme on Tuesday, various literary and artistic competitions like slogan writing, paper reading and essay writing were organised. Through these competitions, the message of ‘Ahimsa Parma Dharma’ and the impact of our thinking on our lifestyle were also spread. Principal Dr Sucharita congratulated the winners.

National Cyber Olympiad

KMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar, organised National Cyber Olympiad (NCO). In the first level of the NCO, Jaspreet Kaur of Class XI and Loveleen Kamboj and Preeti of Class XII were awarded gold medals. Manpreet Kaur of Class XI and Ridhima and Urvashi of Class XII won silver medals. Jaspreet Kaur of Class XI and Jasleen and Harmanjit Kaur of Class XII were awarded bronze medals. Principal Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the winners and their parents.
