Camp under Tandarust Punjab Mission

To make the people aware of the need for checking environmental pollution in the district, the Cooperative Department on Wednesday organised an awareness camp under Tandarust Punjab Mission at Thalla village.

Presiding over the camp, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Navneet Kaur Bal said ‘Tandarust Punjab’ was a comprehensive mission, which had been envisaged as a holistic initiative to take care of the state’s air quality, water quality, and safe food, thus ensuring a good living environment for the citizens of Punjab.

During the camp, members were made aware of keeping environment healthy by stopping stubble burning and using implements which were being provided to coop societies at 80 per cent subsidy. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate also exhorted the people to join the campaign and make it a mass movement so that Punjab could be benefitted from it.

She said the district administration was committed to implementing this campaign in the right earnest by making more and more people to join this.
